For Expert Design and Writing, It’s Kendall B Design
When Blackjack 6 needs something like a new brochure to raise awareness of Operation Fallen Flags, or a certificate or a poster to honor members of the group or other people in the community, or a photographer to shoot photos of an event, the first call he makes is to Captain Ken of Kendall B Design in Rockford.
After a long career running a high-end typography business, Captain Ken (Kendall Nelson) still enjoys working with Blackjack 6, publicizing veterans groups and memorials such as the LZ Peace Memorial, LZ Wings, and Operation Fallen Flags.
Even though he’s not a military veteran, Captain Ken’s graphic design skills and writing talent have been an important part of local veterans activities. Years ago, his brother, who was the editor of the VietNow National Magazine, asked Ken if he would be willing to go to one of VietNow’s national conventions and take pictures. Ken, an expert photographer, took on the assignment, bringing back a lot of great photos for VietNow’s magazine and website, and also made some good friends among the Vietnam veterans at the convention.

For several more years, until VietNow National was disbanded, Captain Ken attended every VietNow national convention, doing a great job taking photos and having a good time.

Blackjack 6 always has new ideas for honoring veterans, and Captain Ken is always there, happy to help.
